- The Unrivaled Cross Stitch Challenge is a stitching challenged based around the Unrivaled Basketball League’s second season that starts Monday, January 5 and ends Wednesday, March 4.
- The goal of this challenge is to help stitchers either: spread stitching across multiple projects or project types (All Teams option) or focus on a single project or project types (1 Team Option)
- The challenge will be based on Instagram, via my account BeccaGetsCrafty, and using the hashtag #unrivaledcrossstitch2026

What is the Unrivaled Basketball League
- The Unrivaled Basketball League is a 3 on 3 women’s professional league started by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.
- The league is made up of 8 teams: Breeze, Hive, Laces, Lunar Owls, Mist, Phantom, Rose and Vinyl. Please visit the for Unrivaled Basketball League website rosters and more information.
- Most games are played Friday thru Monday, with some random days included due to scheduling. The first and last week of the regular season only have 4 games, but the other 6 weeks have 8 games.
- The playoffs start February 28 and end March 4
- There is also a 1 on 1 tournament during the week of the NBA All Star game.
Challenge Breakdown
As mentioned above, this challenge is available in 2 different styles.
- All Teams Option - get work done on 8 projects or project types
- 1 Team Option - get work done on a single project or project type
Both options are based on the final score of the game with some additional elements for the 1 Team Option, so here is some additional information to help you choose which is best for you.
- The highest scoring team last year averaged 80 points and the highest score overall last year was 94 points.
- Depending on which option you go with, plan on roughly 150-200 stitches per week per project with most weeks being less than that.
- All Teams Option would be 8 x the 150-200, so plan on roughly 1,000 stitches across all 8 projects or project types for an 8 game weekend
- 1 Team Option would be 2 x the 150-200, so plan on roughly max 500 stitches for an 8 game weekend
